| 1. Determine Safe Action |
- Check what is it, how can it hurt me and what
can I safely do.
- Take safe, simple actions to help victims or
threatend persons

| 2. Report the Spill |

Name, rank, unit, telephone
number of person calling
- Location of spill / grid coordinates
- Amount and substance spilled.
- Discovery date and time.
- Contamination of a body of water or sewer line?
- Need for emergency/medical assistance.
- Was the spill stopped?

| 4. Stop the Leak |
- Don't contact or breath vapors.
- Close valves, stop pumps, shut down power,
move containers.

| 5. Control and Contain the Leak |
- Keep spill from spreading.
- Put portable containments down.
- Put absorbents down.

| 6. Clean up the Spill |
Clean of a spill is the responsibility of
the causing unit under supervision of the DPW EMO
. => Site Cleanup.
