    USAG Grafenwoehr Public Affairs Office

The U.S. Army Garrison Grafenwoehr Public Affairs Office is the source for news, events and information in the Bavaria Military Community, which includes Grafenwoehr, Rose Barracks, Hohenfels and Garmisch. The PAO staff manages the USAG Grafenwoehr website, The Bavarian News online, The Weekly Newsletter, the marquees (electronic billboards) on Rose Barracks and Grafenwoehr, and the garrison’s Facebook and related social media products.
In addition, the office works closely with AFN-Bavaria TV and Radio, tenant units and public affairs offices, other government outlets, and U.S. and German media.

The public affairs office does not provide photo support for ceremonies or events unless it is covering them for the newspaper (AR 360-1, Chap. 13-4). However, our staff accepts submissions from the community for our information products. To contribute, see our submission standards below.

To request photo or video documentation of ceremonies, make a request through the Joint Multinational Training Command’s Visual Information Ordering Site (link to https://www.vios-east.army.mil/Login/Login.aspx).
    To reach AFN-Bavaria, call DSN 476-3172 / 3173, Civ. 09662-83-3172 / 3173.

    Media and Community Relations
The Media and Community Relations section coordinates with external media outlets for coverage of garrison and other military events and assists the garrison commander, staff and tenant units with establishing and maintaining relations with host nation officials and government agencies. This also includes unit partnerships with towns in the local area.

    DSN 475-7108 or 475-8885, Civ. 09641-83-7108 / 8885.

    The Bavarian News
The Bavarian News Online (BavarianNews.com)is one of the U.S. Army Garrison Grafenwoehr commander’s primary tools for transmitting information to and interacting with the Bavaria Military Community.
The Bavarian News staff consists of the editor and one 20-hour per week contract reporter. As such, we rely on units and organizations with public affairs representatives to provide coverage for their events.

To contribute to the Bavarian News, review the submission standards (link to “submission standards”) and contact the managing editor at DSN 475-7113, Civ. 09641-83-7113; jeremy.s.buddemeier.civ@mail.mil. Coordinate with the editor (usually two weeks prior to the event), before submitting.

    Weekly Newsletter / Social Media
The Weekly Newsletter is a comprehensive listing of on- and off-post events in the USAG Grafenwoehr community. The newsletter is available on the garrison’s website (www.grafenwoehr.army.mil) and is emailed to community members on the distribution list.

Click here (link to Usarmy.grafenwoehr.imcom.mbx.usag-grafenwoehr-pao@mail.mil) to be added to the distribution list.
Individuals interested in placing information should contact the newsletter editor at Usarmy.grafenwoehr.imcom.mbx.usag-grafenwoehr-pao@mail.mil, or DSN 475-6512 / 1600, Civ. 09641-83-6512 / 1600.

The deadline for newsletter submissions is Tuesday at noon. Contributors should submit information at least two weeks prior to their event for maximum impact.

    USAG Grafenwoehr Website

The USAG Grafenwoehr webmaster is responsible for content management of the garrison’s site (www.grafenwoehr.army.mil) to include Hohenfels and Garmisch community pages. Organizations requesting updates should copy and paste from website into a Word document and mark all changes red. In addition, copy and paste the direct URL at the top of the Word document (e.g. www.grafenwoehr.army.mil/sites/mypage.asp).

    Individuals interested in placing information on the website should contact the webmaster at DSN 475-7775, Civ. 09641-83-7775;
    Email: usarmy.grafenwoehr.imcom.mbx.usag-grafenwoehr-webmaster@mail.mil

The webmaster can also provide support for organizations that would like to create a Facebook page or add events to the community calendar.

    USAG Grafenwoehr Marquees

The marquees (electronic billboards) on Grafenwoehr and Rose Barracks are reserved for command directed information campaigns (i.e. responsible drinking, energy conservation) and major events open to entire community. The public affairs office reserves the right to edit or refuse any submission, and will determine whether a particular event or announcement is suitable for the marquees.

Individuals interested in placing information on the marquees should contact the command information chief at DSN 475-7113, Civ. 09641-83-7113; bavariannews@gmail.com.
