H1N1 Community Information

A message from USAG Grafenwoehr Garrison Commander Col. Nils C. Sorenson:

To our great community:

Cases of H1N1 flu have been confirmed at our garrison, and we have activated measures to contain the spread.
To effectively fight H1N1 and stay Army Strong, we as a community need to understand this virus and adhere to the following plan:

  • PREVENTION: means washing your hands; using hand sanitizers if possible; avoid touching your mouth and nose; and get vaccinated when available.
  • PROTECTION: means staying home when you are sick; social distancing for high risk individuals.
  • TRACKING means we will monitor the number and location of cases; this may also mean reducing activities and services to reduce exposure.
  • COMMUNICATION means we will keep you informed and we ask you to educate your family members about prevention and protection. Our medical professionals have produced important fact sheets on what we can do. Please review the literature located at our web page www.grafenwoehr.army.mil
